Background:

Medicover, a renowned healthcare service provider, sought to revamp its online presence to enhance user engagement, drive sales, and bolster brand growth. My primary objective was to transform their website into a compelling, user-friendly platform. In this case study, I’ll detail the design thinking and strategies that shaped the redesign process, focusing on key improvements made to the site's structure, content, and functionality.

Hero Section:

The hero section of the Medicover website was identified as the most critical area for visitor engagement. Understanding that first impressions are paramount, our goal was to communicate the essence of Medicover immediately. Rather than overwhelming visitors with an extensive list of services, we strategically highlighted two key offerings: obstetrics and optics. This approach allowed visitors to quickly grasp Medicover’s core services, increasing the likelihood of them exploring further.

Header:

The header section is where visitors typically direct their attention after the hero section, so it was crucial to optimize its effectiveness. To do this, we minimized the space occupied by phone numbers and the "get a quote for companies" feature while enhancing their visibility with a distinctive blue color.

We also redesigned the navigation system to facilitate easier access to Medicover’s broad range of services by introducing a more detailed dropdown menu on the left side. The search function, seen as the engine of the entire site, was enlarged for better usability. Additionally, we replaced the "get a quote for companies" call-to-action with "schedule an appointment online," catering to the non-commercial audience. A language-changing flag was added to increase convenience, and we listed the most important services below the header for quick access.

Social Proof Section:

Building trust and establishing authority were paramount for Medicover’s online presence. To achieve this, we introduced a robust social proof section that showcased the company’s prestigious awards, such as being a 10-time Business Superbrands and 8-time Best Of Budapest Award winner. We also included selected patient reviews from various locations, helping to build credibility and enthusiasm among visitors.

Services Section:

Incorporating insights from the hero section, we continued the list of services in a streamlined format to help visitors make more informed decisions. This layout was designed to make it easier for visitors to jump straight to the search section, encouraging smoother navigation. To further motivate visitors to take action, we emphasized two crucial elements from the hero section—“get a quote for businesses” and “Covid test appointment”—making it clear that these options were key services available.

News Section:

While the news section provided valuable updates, it wasn’t a top priority for most visitors. We repositioned this content to a more appropriate section of the website, highlighting only the three most essential news pieces. This adjustment allowed visitors to focus on Medicover’s core offerings and services first, without distraction.

Other Websites:

Links to other Medicover divisions had previously been relegated to the footer. We recognized that these links represented valuable resources that deserved more prominent placement. To address this, we created separate blocks for each division, complete with visual representations, making it easier for visitors to explore the full spectrum of Medicover’s offerings.

Footer:

The footer remained largely unchanged, serving as a consistent and familiar navigation point for users. It continued to provide essential contact information and quick links to the most important sections of the site.

Results:

The Medicover homepage redesign successfully optimized the user experience by streamlining content, improving navigation, and emphasizing the company’s core services. By prominently displaying accolades, patient reviews, and important news, we built trust and authority, supporting Medicover’s overarching goals of driving sales and brand growth.

This redesign exemplifies a dynamic and innovative approach to digital marketing, perfectly aligning with Medicover’s mission to provide high-quality healthcare services. Through thoughtful design choices and strategic content placement, the website now offers a more engaging, user-centric experience that meets both the needs of visitors and the business objectives of Medicover.
